CHFR workshop: New Ideas in Myocardial Plasticity

Center for Heart Failure Research invites clinicians and basic researchers with an interest in cardiac plasticity and remodeling to participate in our workshop: "New Ideas in Myocardial Plasticity”. Featured lectures will explore the inherent malleability of cardiomyocytes, fibroblasts, and interstitial cells, with implications for differentiation, disease, and repair.

The meeting will take place Friday November 4th 12:30-15:40 in Grønt Auditorium, Building 25 (Laboratoriebygget) at Ullevål. Sandwiches will be served beforehand at 12:00. To ensure your free lunch, please register before November 2nd at 23:00.

The invited lecture with the title "Understanding myocardial plasticity: from mechanical assist devices to myocardial tissue engineering" will be given by Professor Cesare Terracciano, Imperial College London. His research has been focused on the role of mechanical load in regulation of cardiomyocyte structure / function. More recently, Professor Terracciano’s group has expanded their work to include investigations of cardiac stem cell differentiation.

Additional speakers in the symposium include both junior and senior scientists who will further explore the theme of plasticity, spanning various cardiac cell types and clinical applications.
